Pressed on the programs on television, Mr Hunt mentioned hospital bosses have been getting driven “mad” by the reality that they have been not in a position to screw down better offers from suppliers.
He told the Andrew Marr Present on BBC A single: “Hospitals pay also a lot for some of the fundamental goods and solutions. That drives them mad.
“So today we’re announcing a big new scheme to improve NHS procurement, a central listing so that we can use the bulk-acquiring energy the NHS has.”
Health department sources stated the NHS was now hunting to hit the £500million conserving target by the finish of March 2016.
A health procurement ‘tzar’ will also be appointed by the Government to make the procurement checklist and drive this operate forward.
