Care at scandal hit hospital "nothing brief of torture", households say

At some point on her fourth admittance a physician advised them she had designed pneumonia and withdrew therapy without their consent, the family say.


They informed him his juniors said there was no signal of pneumonia, Mr Williams said, but “he mentioned they were junior and he knew greatest and he carried on.”


A publish-mortem later on exposed she was cost-free of the condition and had died of a heart assault following being deprived of nutrition and medication for days.


“It was the most cruel, prolonged, unnecessarily struggling death. It haunts us,” Mr Williams said. Her death is part of the ongoing police investigation.


The family members have obtained a letter of apology from Paul Roberts, chief executive of the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University trust, but believe that a complete public inquiry is the only way justice can be done.


Pam Davies says when she took her mom Dorothy Mead, 83, was admitted to A&ampE she was in desperate need of aid and she was shouting for staff to come to her support, but no 1 came.


Mrs Davies, who worked for the Ambulance Services for much more than twenty years, said: “I have pedigree cats, my sister breeds horses…..our vets are much more compassionate and a lot more dignified with our animals than what they are in the hospital.”


Glenda Rodriguez-Noza, a former nurse who worked at Princess of Wales Hospital until finally 2009, claims she raised serious concerns many occasions about patient care but was ignored.


Mrs Rodrigeuz-Noza said she saw an infected space not getting sufficiently cleaned prior to it was used by other individuals, and a dementia patient being approximately handled, and a nurse providing a patient the incorrect medicine.


In a statement the ABMU Overall health Board apologised to the families and mentioned that they are addressing troubles.
