It is the third time in 45 years Prince Philip, famed for his playful sense of humour, has opened the sexual health centre, as it has moved house 3 occasions since its founding in 1969.
Claire Murdoch, chief executive of the Central North West London NHS Basis Trust which runs the centre, thanked the Prince for attending.
She mentioned: “It’s to be admired that your Royal Highness supported our function when it was a lot more controversial and ground-breaking.
“This tends to make your return these days all the a lot more impressive and appreciated.”
The centre, which is visited by about 750 people a week, gives family members planning advice and help as nicely as supplying gynaecological care at Holloway Prison and working with younger men and women, homeless women and intercourse workers.
