Make contact with with pet cats has resulted in two individuals in England creating tuberculosis (TB) in the initial ever recorded cases of cat-to-human transmission.
Carl Gorman, Clinical Director of Falkland Veterinary Clinic in Newbury, Berkshire mentioned: “tuberculosis in cats is unusual in itself but not unheard of [...] but in humans it’s special”.
He recommended people who have a cat that has a poorly healing sore or abscess to go to their neighborhood vet.
