The Fletcherism diet plan
Dinner events would not have been much entertaining at the house of Horace Fletcher, an American who in the late 19th century began to promote a approach known as “Fletcherism” – chewing each mouthful of meals for at least 32 times, or till it was in liquid form. Fletcher, who was recognized as “the fantastic masticator”, believed his approach could assist people to lose excess weight and stay away from illness. It also made him pots of cash.
